NaNoWriMo 2013 – Cover

This isn’t the easiest story to write, especially with the separate-yet-the-same storylines. I needed to brainstorm the plot with some vigor, and spend my woozy Saturday on that.
Today I felt more like creating the Cover. A book needs a cover, especially for me when writing. It makes it more real, more alive.

I’m not entirely sure about the cover but it’s probably close. What do you think?

NaNoWriMo 2013 – Reckless Abandon

There is  nothing as dangerous as a little knowledge. The saying goes something like that. It is late and my brain is marinating in Glenfiddich 18 y/o, so I don’t know who actually said it and what the quote was.

It does apply to the NaNoWriMo though. For me at least. Last year I managed to write as one should at the NaNoWriMo. With reckless abandon. Like crazy. Verbal diarrhea. I pumped out words by the scores. pouring them into my keyboard until the keys glowed red-hot and smoke wafted from the mechanisms.   [More...]

NaNoWriMo 2013 – Still brainstorming

I know I should have been well on my way towards the 50.000 words… but I’m not. Somehow I’m still in the planning phase. Stuck in brainstorming the actual story.

This year’s NaNoWriMo novel is going to be a novella. Something between a short story and a novel. No really. I’m actually going to keep it short and sweet. Yes, me. Short. Well, you can stop ROFL-ing now, alright?

So there is this story that entered my mind last December, just after the NaNoWriMo 2012 ended. December 12 was nearing and everyone was talking about the ‘End of the World’, as prophesied by the Mayans. Particularly, how idiotic it was and how stupid people who would believe that they had actually meant it as a literal ‘end of the world’ and it would be that day.   [More...]
